Advantage Arms .22LR conversion kits for Glocks, Springfield XDs, and 1911s are finally starting to resurface after a nearly two-year hiatus. I have a kit for a Glock 26/27 size frame and a kit for a Glock 17/22 size frame. It works great. My boys love shooting them and so do I.

Your conversion kit will include a 10 round magazine. Additional magazines can be ordered directly from the Advantage Arms website. The G-17/22 and G-19/23 kits have a 15 round magazine, but it won't fit and will extend about half an inch from the bottom of the G-17/22 case.

Both the G-17/22 and G-26/27 conversion kits are very reliable with CCI Mini-Mag, Winchester M-22, Remington Golden Bullets and Gemtech subsonic ammunition.

The manufacturer recommends CCI "Mini-Mags" (40 grain round nose, no wedge) or Remington "Golden Bullets" bulk pack (pictured right). The manufacturer notes that the Remington Golden Bullets perform quite well, however you will get more light hits and inconsistent loads than the CCI Mini-Mag loads. With a clean conversion kit and Remington ammo I fired over 300 rounds before the first misfire.

Advantage Arms states in its instructions and on its website that the conversion kits will not work with CCI, Winchester, Remington Thunderbolt, PMC, or Federal bulk ammo at all.

Remington Golden Bullets is recommended by Advantage Arms and in my experience works great with both conversion kits when unsuppressed. Add a suppressor to any kit and it occasionally fails to fire. If you never plan on using a suppressor, I'd go with the Remington ammo with an "A". Remington ammo gets an "F" rating if you plan to use a suppressor.

As mentioned above, my Glock 26/27 and Glock 17/22 conversion kits generally like the Remington Golden Bullets, except they perform miserably with a suppressor attached. Both kits work great with Gemtech subsonic ammo (pictured right) with or without a suppressor attached. Grade A".

This ammo also works well in my Ruger 10/22 rifles as well as a CMMG .22LR adapter kit mounted on an AR-15 rifle.

We tested CCI's Standard Velocity Ammo (pictured right). He was doing miserably. Not every spent casing could be removed. I had to use a cleaning rod to push the stuck housing back out of the chamber. If the higher velocity CCI Mini-Mag ammo works fine, standard velocity ammo cannot be used.

We tested Winchester M-22 ammo with 40 grains of washed copper (pictured right). Although this ammo is not listed in the conversion kit instructions, it worked great. You can definitely tell it has more power than Remington's Golden Bullets. Sure, it doesn't have the power of a 9mm, but you could definitely tell where the money went for this great ammo when you pulled the trigger. It is definitely faster than CCI Mini Mags and Remington Golden Bullets. You should expect about the same velocity and ballistics as the CCI Mini-Mags ammo (discussed above).

This ammo is very reliable in the Advantage Gun Conversion Kit for the G-17/22 Large Frame Pistol in both suppressed and unsuppressed form. It also worked great in a Glock 27/27 conversion kit without a suppressor, but like all the ammo tested, it will not work with a suppressor attached (due to the conversion kit, as explained below).

This is not part of the Advantage Arms conversion kit discussion, but like Gemtech's subsonic offering, this ammo works great in my Ruger 10/22 rifles, as well as the CMMG adapter kit in .22LR fitted to my AR-15 rifle. The only reason I gave the Winchester M-22 an overall grade of "A-" is because the rifle is supersonic when fired and produces a loud crack when the bullet exceeds the speed of sound. However, when fired from the short barrels of the Advantage Arms conversion kit, it does not reach supersonic velocities, so it does not produce the supersonic crack that the rifle produces. If you're going to shoot this unsuppressed ammo out of a Ruger 10/22 or CMMG .22LR conversion kit AR-15 rifles, it gets an "A+" for reliability, but it's not the best if you want to shoot in silence. with damper. I cannot recommend this ammo enough for unsuppressed Ruger 10/22 rifles, AR-15 rifles with CMMG conversion kits, large frame Glock 17/22 pistols equipped with Advantage Arms kits (with or without a suppressor), and small frame Glock 26/27 . pistols equipped with Advantage Arms kits.

Threaded barrels are available direct from the manufacturer so you can run a conversion kit with a suppressor. The barrels have an adapter that enlarges the thin threaded barrel (thread pattern unknown) to the 1/2×28 thread pattern common to most .22LR suppressors (photo at right). I found that removing the suppressor from the barrel adapter would screw the adapter off the barrel instead of the suppressor unscrewing from the adapter. A quick fix is ​​to easily tighten the adapter onto the cylinder with a 16mm wrench. (Keep an extra 16mm open end wrench in your gun carry bag and one in your toolbox/gun cleaning kit. They're available at every pawn shop on the planet.) Tighten it enough that when you try to remove the suppressor, the suppressor's threaded connection disconnects the adapter before it disconnects the cylinder. Do not tighten it too tightly. I walked the Vortex Venom ammo to a target area and then fired 3 rounds at a new target and checked. I then fired 7 more shots and ended up with a 10 round group!

With the original 10mm barrel I had a 5" standard at 20 yards. Now I have a 3-4" standard. I'm waiting for my stamp on the can and I have the poster for weight loss and RMR reduction. This will be a difficult dance weapon.

Glock 27 Specs - I have a 9mm sig P 938, the trigger pull is terrible and I personally am not very accurate about it. I also have a 2 sig p 238 in 380 auto and the gun is nice but not very accurate. The frame is also a bit thin so my hands are tired after 100 rounds at this distance. The Glock 27 is the first better choice. It's close to the size of the p938 so it's very compact. 2nd is 40 cal, not 9mm, 3rd 9+1 vs 6+1 magazine 4th, I can use my 15 preloaded magazines at home so I don't waste time reloading. Best of all this gun is very accurate at 7 yards, I can fire 15 rounds into a 3 inch circle, plus after 100 shots without fatigue. I bought a Glock G 27 Gen 3.

As a retired LEO, I have owned several guns (mostly Glocks). This is my all time favorite gun for concealed carry. .40 caliber gets the job done and the pistol fires consistently. I have shot SMJ and Hallow points through it with no problems. At the range, this little gun outshoots my more expensive Kimber 1911.45. What I mean here is that my Kimber really has a problem with feed jamming. The manual safety element is so close to the handle that any thumb that accidentally touches it will accidentally touch the safety part. These problems lead to errors when shooting a very fast bullet. Meanwhile, my Glock 27 has never jammed or broken in a live fire situation. I can keep shooting while other people are busy solving their problems with other guns. I trusted this gun with my life! That's something I can't really say about many other guns!

From my own experience with this gun, I recommend this setup if you have trouble managing recoil (hitting the target due to recoil).
